Buckwheat with Savory Sauce
Ingredients
- 200 g Buckwheat Choose high-quality buckwheat without impurities.
- 400 ml Water For cooking the buckwheat.
- 1 pc Onion Chop into small cubes.
- 1 pc Carrot Grate the carrot.
- 2 tablespoons Tomato paste Can be substituted with fresh tomatoes.
- 2 tablespoons Oil For sautéing vegetables.
- to taste Salt Add according to your preference.
- to taste Black pepper Freshly ground pepper adds aroma.
Method
- In a saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat, add the onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add the grated carrot to the onion and cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring.
- Add tomato paste, salt, and pepper, stir and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
- Rinse the buckwheat under cold water, then pour it into a saucepan with water.
- Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and cook covered for 15-20 minutes until done.
- Mix the cooked buckwheat with the sauce, or pour the sauce over the buckwheat - serve hot. Add meat patties or stew if desired.
