  • 200 g Buckwheat Choose high-quality buckwheat without impurities.
  • 400 ml Water For cooking the buckwheat.
Vegetables
  • 1 pc Onion Chop into small cubes.
  • 1 pc Carrot Grate the carrot.
Seasonings
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste Can be substituted with fresh tomatoes.
  • 2 tablespoons Oil For sautéing vegetables.
  • to taste Salt Add according to your preference.
  • to taste Black pepper Freshly ground pepper adds aroma.

Method

Preparing the Sauce
  1. In a saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat, add the onion and sauté until translucent.
  2. Add the grated carrot to the onion and cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring.
  3. Add tomato paste, salt, and pepper, stir and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
Cooking the Buckwheat
  1. Rinse the buckwheat under cold water, then pour it into a saucepan with water.
  2. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and cook covered for 15-20 minutes until done.
Serving
  1. Mix the cooked buckwheat with the sauce, or pour the sauce over the buckwheat - serve hot. Add meat patties or stew if desired.
